Putting together the pieces of the puzzle

In practical terms, this means that you now have the tools to begin to find your way in a new culture.  If you know only one thing, that the culture is very group oriented, for example, chances are that you can make an educated guess about that culture’s other characteristics.

 

It is reasonable to assume that a traditional, group-oriented culture has a high power distance attitude toward authority and a high context approach to interpersonal relationships.  It is also reasonable to assume that it favors public space over private space and that it has a harmony or constraint orientation to the environment.
